Gunmen shoot at worshipers outside Kashmir shrine, 2 wounded | KNO

Suspected insurgents fired upon a retired government employee outside a shrine, injuring him and his kin, in Jammu and Kashmir late on Tuesday.

Sources told gunmen, believed to be insurgents, fired upon Abdul Rashid Lone when he was coming out from a Mosque– after offering Taraweeh prayer– in Khanpura area of Varmul district. The incident took place at 10:30 pm outside the Khanpura shrine. Along with Lone, his nephew too suffered injuries, and both were shifted to hospital. Lone had retired after serving the Jammu and Kashmir electricity department. Medical sources said both the wounded were treated for gunshot wounds and were in a stable condition. It wasn’t clear if he had any political affiliation.
